This Weekly Tech Roundup, I talk about the arrival of my Snow Leopard upgrade, the Nokia Booklet Netbook that looks like a Mac and the leaked arrival of BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac! Now that my Blackberry Tour can sync with my Mac, I have officially dubbed it The Pink MacBerry! More reviews of the software will follow, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up to it’s existence. You can download the Desktop Manager for Mac via the links on this Macworld post! If for some reason the links to the software are removed, I do have the .dmg file for any of my subscribers who missed out on it. I will keep it until the official release of the Mac version by RIM. Contact me via email if you need it!

The Pink Mac
Just watched your weekly tech roundup and thought I might offer a bit of advice. Create a small (20GB or so) partition on your hard disk and do a clean install of Snow Leopard there to see how it functions on your Mac. If it’s anything like mine and most other people’s, you will have problems. This way you can keep working in Leopard while waiting for 10.6.1 (and possibly .2 and .3) to solve those problems. Better than upgrading Leopard, finding Snow Leopard too glitchy, and having to do a complete reinstall of 10.5. Also you get to test out Snow Leopard patches without risk to your main OS.
Hope this is useful.

Mark,
Thanks for your advice! I have been hearing a lot of negative chatter as to the glichiness of snow leopard and was actually beginning to think I should hold off on it entirely until they work out the issues. I might just wait on the upgrade until they do an update!
Thanks again!
xoxo
