One of my blog readers asked me to do a speed test to see the download and upload speeds I get when I am connected to my blackberry, so here are the results. They were rather low tonight, and I confess, I did test the speeds on my blackberry before and I got a 3 Mbps download and about .5 upload, so not as bad as today’s results. I think I will have to revisit this speed test another day to see if the numbers change. Enjoy!
Since you seem to be something of a Mac fan, I’m a bit surprised that you’d use a Blackberry instead of an iPhone. Then again, as I’ve never used either, I have no idea which, if any, is technically superior. Does the Blackberry have more/better features; or is it an aesthetic decision. Perhaps the iPhone doesn’t support your preferred network?

Mark,
Although I would love to own an iPhone, there are a few reasons I do not. First of all, I am a Verizon user and would never switch to AT&T just for a phone- my parents had AT&T and had a terrible experience with it and I have heard similar stories from others (even iPhone users). I broke down and bought a Blackberry once I realized that the iPhone is not an option for me right now and I really had a need for a smartphone. I looked at my available options and went with the Blackberry Tour, which I think was a great choice. I am not happy about the lack of Mac connectivity with Blackberry devices although, I do love the Blackberry Desktop Manager that was leaked which I am currently using to sync my BB to my Macbook and think that software like this is a step in the right direction.
Thanks for the comment– I think this topic would be a great subject for a post!
