Strange & Charmed

Rumors are certainly not a new phenomena when it comes to Apple products, nor is the specific rumor of Apple secretly producing a tablet computer. Despite the fact that every year more and more specific accounts of Mac tablets arise, it seems as though we still always buy into them. This time, however, the rumor-mill is fueled by evidence cited by a source apart from an “Apple Insider.” MacLife reported today that in a recent Border’s customer survey a question asked whether “I plan to buy and Apple iPAD (large screen reading device) this year.” So, is this proof of a future product whose arrival was under wraps, or is this just a misidentification of another Apple product, such as the iPod? Well, we can’t know for sure until time tells us that this was either a mistake or foresight, however, from my experience, whenever you have a third party company accidentally releasing information to the public via emails, product surveys, or repair lists, they tend to be correct. I don’t want to go out on a limb here and say that we should wait around for the arrival of this highly anticipated iPad, but I think this might be the most credible evidence yet.

To be honest with you, sometimes my obsession with the internet can turn ugly. Spending the 5+ hours between work and bedtime behind the screen of my Macbook, browsing web sites, watching videos, checking email, and IMing can lead to total brain meltdown. It is easy to get caught up in everything the internet and technology offers, but it is also important to take some time away. Log out of the chat client, close your email and browser windows, shut down (or at least hibernate) the computer. Let your own batteries recharge.

This week will be full of anticipation for myself, as I wait patiently (or maybe impatiently) for a few packages to arrive. I am expecting a few things to arrive this week (hopefully) or perhaps next week and I am very excited for all the unboxings and product reviews I will be doing over the next few weeks. To give you a sneak preview, I will give you a hint on what is to come: Skin. Okay, so there is your hint, I think it covers most of what I am expecting in the days to come. Also, get excited because there may be a giveaway on the horizon with some of these new products rolling in. In this video I respond to some viewer submitted questions about the Incase Hard Shell case I use, as well as the differences between Incase and Speck SeeThru brand hard shells.

It’s almost like Christmas in July, err, or rather August, as Incase has finally introduced their new Fall ’09 lineup of products for the Macbook! I am mostly interested, of course, in the new hard shell for the 13″ Macbook Pro, which has taken them nearly 2 months to reveal! Unfortunately, however, they have only listed this new product on the hard shell main page and the link for it directs back to the Macbook product list page. So, it might be a little while longer before we get to see what these new cases are made of, but don’t worry, you can count on me to stalk their website until I get a peek! So, what do we know of this elusive hard shell so far? Well, we know it comes in a variety of colors, black, clear, pink, green, and orange (a new fall addition no doubt)! I am curious to see how Incase worked around the new ports. Did they do a full cut out like Speck? Or did they form fit the case to each individual opening? We don’t know yet, but trust me, we will know soon enough! So keep an eye out for an update on my blog on these new hard shells! See ya soon!
